An angry cartoon figure is standing in front of a melting glacier. While in Alaska I overheard a guide patiently explaining that the man she was talking with was seeing climate change happening in front of his very eyes. I could sense her frustration as the guy stubbornly maintained his opinion in spite of what he was clearly seeing for himself! A muddy river was flowing out from the glacier! I used the cartoon colors to increase her feeling. And in a way the exclamation marks look a bit like an Indian headress, which points out another aspect of the problem.

I have been a painter, photographer and designer for many years. Worked as art director for a theater company in San Diego, designer for an audio visual company in Minneapolis, tech director for a contractor with Walt Disney World in Orlando, graphic designer for a Landscape Architect in Orlando, as an art teacher in Nairobi, Kenya, and prepress for a printer in Minneapolis. My work is displayed in many private collections and currently I exhibit in Art of the Lakes in Battle Lake, Minnesota, (http://www.artofthelakes.org/) as well as Gallery96 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
