I was in the hospital for heart surgery and paging through the Bible my eyes landed on Malachi 4:2 in the Holman version, "But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings..." It seemed to be a promise. Then I began to see many more mentions of dawn and healing. Starting with a dove, I created a figure whose wings are like cloths used to wrap wounds and become a liturgical robe, a symbol of the presence of God. It is designed as a stained glass window with gold lines. It also speaks of a new creation, healing is a kind of new creation.

I have been a painter, photographer and designer for many years. Worked as art director for a theater company in San Diego, designer for an audio visual company in Minneapolis, tech director for a contractor with Walt Disney World in Orlando, graphic designer for a Landscape Architect in Orlando, as an art teacher in Nairobi, Kenya, and prepress for a printer in Minneapolis. My work is displayed in many private collections and currently I exhibit in Art of the Lakes in Battle Lake, Minnesota, (http://www.artofthelakes.org/) as well as Gallery96 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
